You must request supplies and check them out with a Proto Lab staff member; no tools or equipment can be removed from the lab without approval.
Tools
In order to borrow tools from the lab to use on the IDM floor, you must leave your NYU ID with a Proto Lab staff member. Proto lab tools and equipment can not be taken off the IDM floor (with the exception of Arduino kits).

Soldering kits can be borrowed from the Proto Lab staff for 1 day at a time.

Late Equipment Policy
Students who keep equipment, kits, or tools beyond the checkout deadline and have not contacted the Proto Lab to explain their situation and receive a waiver, (illness or other emergencies) will not be allowed to sign any equipment out for one week for every day late. In certain cases, the Department may allow students to complete a community service project instead of serving out the entire privilege suspension.
Repeat offenders will lose access to the Proto Lab. If equipment is not returned at the end of a semester a student’s grades may be withheld, and their account with the Bursar’s Office will be charged for the missing/damaged items.
